President, Principal PDUAM Amjonga"At Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya, we believe higher education institutions must act as sanctuaries for local language ecosystems and living traditions. The Rabha Literary Society bridges scholarly research with community stewardship."
Founded in a classroom, rooted in a community.
The society began as a circle of Rabha students at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Adarsha Mahavidyalaya, Amjonga, who recognised that the language and stories of their grandparents were quietly disappearing from everyday life — and that the university itself was an unusually generous place to do something about it.
From the first reading evenings in 2024, the society has grown into a small but determined ensemble of writers, folklorists, weavers, teachers and elders, all working under one shared principle: that preservation only matters when it makes the future possible.
Four core pillars of our work.
"One story. One voice. One legacy."
